Your Power of Intention
Happy 2021 beloved friends! WE MADE IT! Together, let’s continue to look forward with hope for a brighter future ahead. Not only because of the current circumstances and events that have plagued us for the last year, but because you deserve the brightest and best in the coming years. But that starts now by learning to set an intention today.
Intention is defined as “a determination to act in a certain way.” The intention is your reason or aim to do something right now, and contributes to achieving the goal you’ve set in place. It keeps you in the moment rather than distancing yourself from your future desires and conquests. Instead, intentions are how you feel about doing something. Bring attention to those intentions, it’s a small little thing that contributes tremendously.
It’s easy to enter the new year while proclaiming the familiar and comfortable concept of “New year’s resolutions”, but rather than entering the year focused on immediate satisfaction to resolve something, let’s focus on the intention behind a goal that contributes to your success.
Perhaps your new year’s resolution is to have a more consistent bedtime, but the true intention is to feel energized and eager upon waking up. Recognizing this nuance is critical to identifying your goal.
What’s Your Intention
With the new year upon us, like Mother Nature and the coming of Spring, we’ll be moving out of a place of stagnation and darkness, and into a bright, reviving environment. As we transition to the light, it’s important to move mindfully, concentrating on the power of your intent.
Are there any habits you’ve been thinking about adjusting or even struggling with? The sample principle applies to other habits such as making better lifestyle choices, or even building healthy habits around food. Are you trying to eat healthy, or be healthy?
Intention enables you to achieve the small goals that empower you to get into stable routines as you work toward your future success.

Routines in Action
Some find the idea of a new routine daunting because the beginning feels like the most difficult part. The funny thing about routines is that they start to ramp up. Returning to a new habit, day-by-day helps build consistency which is why it’s vital to keep showing up to continue doing the work.

Consider finding ways to commit to your goals by having a supplementary outlet as support, such as journaling or creating a vision board. Better yet, find a partner to hold you accountable, and will help you keep on track. Or you could find a friend to and work together towards a common goal. This commitment empowers you to adhere to the intentions conceived. So keep going, because you’ve got this and at some point you’ll be doing it naturally.
Your Intention Is Your Strength
Your strength comes from remembering the Why. Why do you work as hard as you do? Because your intent is to get where you want to go. The truth is, you can do anything. You just need to start. Stop underestimating your strengths and capabilities, and overestimating your doubts and insecurities. What simple step can you take today to move forward? Appreciate the success when it’s done, and try it again tomorrow.
Your intention will guide you.

Stress relief, pain relief, flexibility, weight management, improved circulation, and inner peace are just a few benefits of a yoga practice. And what better way to start the new year by improving your well-being with yoga!
Our 4-week Intro course is designed for you to learn the basics you will need for Open Level classes and beyond. Learn with the same small group each week and receive individualized attention from our instructor. These classes are great for brand-new beginners, those re-starting their practice after a long break, and also for students who are new to practicing alignment-based yoga.

Yoga Class Cancellation Policy:
Pre-registration is required for all classes due limited class sizes. BWY requires 1-hour notice to cancel in studio class reservations; in the event of a late cancellation or no-show, a $25 fee will be charged to the credit card on file. You can cancel your class online or from the Mindbody app up to 1 hour before your scheduled class to avoid being charged a no-show or late-cancellation fee. Please note that we do not accept phone or email cancellations.
If a class is full you may add yourself to the waitlist. If a cancellation is made, the first name on the waitlist gets automatically added to the class. If you are signed up for notifications, you will receive an email or text as soon as you are moved off the waitlist. Once you are added to the class from the waitlist you become responsible for attending or canceling.
Students must arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of class, we release any unclaimed spots to students from the waitlist at that time. If you are registered for class and do not arrive at least 5 minutes prior, you may lose your spot to someone from the waitlist.
